Huckleberry Finn

This time I am going to recommend a book to practice your English;
It's called Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain for students of English is recommended Oxford's edition

• Plot and summary of the work

History tells us the events chronologically after the end of the novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, then assuming that this story would be a continuation for the same. Huckleberry Finn, best friend of Tom Sawyer, is cared for and protected by the Widow Douglas, but at the same time dedicated to their games always helping Tom in his band of thieves. But fate plays against poor Huck, it is captured by his evil father, who returns to the village and takes him to live in a hut downstream.
There, Huck is held captive, but manages to escape on a raft, and meets his friend, the black Jim, a runaway slave who flees seeking their freedom. The two embark on a dangerous flight, along the Mississippi River, and live many adventures together, until the surprising and unexpected end of the work, which are aided by the daring and courageous Tom Sawyer.

Oscar Niemeyer, Architect Who Gave Brasília Its Flair, Dies at 104

Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho (Rio de Janeiro, December 15, 1907 - Ibid, December 5, 2012) 1 was a Brazilian architect.

Follower and great promoter of the ideas of Le Corbusier, is considered one of the most influential international modern architecture. He pioneered the exploration of the constructive possibilities of reinforced concrete and plastic.
Among its main architectural projects include the construction of Brasília as the new capital of his country during the 1960s. Niemeyer was primarily responsible for some iconic public buildings in the city, including the National Congress of Brazil, the Cathedral of Brasilia, Planalto Palace and the Palácio da Alvorada. He was also one of the main drivers of the team that designed the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.

Why is England or the UK sometimes called Britain?

"England" is sometimes, wrongly, used in reference to the whole United Kingdom, the entire island of Great Britain (or simply Britain), or indeed the British Isles. This is not only incorrect but can cause offence to people from other parts of the UK. 

• England, Scotland, Wales, Great Britain refer to different 'parts of the UK. The British Isles includes many islands not even part of the UK.

History of the making of the UK

1536 - Act of Union joins England and Wales

1707 - Act of Union unites Scotland and England, together with Wales to form the Kingdom of Great Britain.

1801 - The Irish Parliament voted to join the Union. The then Kingdom of Great Britain becomes the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

1922 - Name changed to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, when most of the Southern counties in Ireland choose independence.

La Lonja was delared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 for being one of the most stunning, most important and best preserved examples of Late Gothic architecture in entire Europe. Built in the beginning of XVI century, La Lonja (Silk Exchange) is the real emblem of the Golden Age of Valencia - the times when this city was one Europe's main cultural and economic centres - and this is precisely why La Lonja was built. As such, no expense was spared on the lavishness and luxury of the architecture here.

It is impossible to be unimpressed by La Lonja and that is why it is a must on any travel itinerary. La Lonja is a dramatic and ingenious blend of medieval castle mounmentalism and an exquisite sophistication of the epoch art. It both inspires awe with its imposing glamour, and seduces you with its elaborate playful ornaments. It is both powerful and light-hearted, both solemn and sparkling with life.

La Lonja is composed of three parts (plus the Orange Garden - a walled court-yard). The main hall, Sala de Contratacion (The Contract Hall) is an enormous, lavishly decorated space supported by gorgeous twisted columns. This was the centre of life in La Lonja, the place where the merchants would meet, deal and sign. The side-wing is named the Pavillion of the Consulate, and this was the seat of the Tribunal del Mar - the first merchant tribunal to ever be formed in Spain. The first two floors were the main function rooms, with the upper one hosting a richly decorated ceiling - a masterpiece of medieval art which had the King ride out of the capital just to see it. These rooms are still authentically furnished. On occasions, the Tribunal would imprison merchants for debts in the central tower of La Lonja - the third part of the structure.

"You Lost Me" is a song by American recording artist Christina Aguilera, taken from her fourth studio album, Bionic (2010). Aguilera described as the "heart of the album," the song was written by Aguilera and Sia Furler, with the song's producer Samuel Dixon. Lyrically, the song refers to an unfaithful man, who has left the world in view of Aguilera as "infected". The song was released on June 29, 2010 by RCA Records as the third and final single from Bionic. A radio edit was released and earned comparisons with the likes of Phil Spector and the Wall of Sound.

"You Lost Me" was well received by contemporary critics, with criticism that stand out as one of the highlights of the album and complimenting the song to be a return to Aguilera in time before the previous single, "Not Myself Tonight ". Commercially, the performance of the song was very weak, becoming his first single to not enter the Billboard Hot 100, although it was a success in the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart, reaching number one. Internacionally, percormance had the same graph, charting in Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia and the United Kingdom.
